French Trumpeter Robin Paillet won the First Prize at the 2025 ARD International Music Competition in Munich as well as all the other prizes: for interpretation, and the audience and orchestra’s vote, establishing himself as one of the most promising young trumpet talents of his generation.
Passionate about the symphonic repertoire for trumpet, Robin has performed as a soloist with prestigious ensembles such as the Orchestra of the Opéra de Paris, the Orchestre de Paris, the Orchestre National de France, and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, under the direction of renowned conductors including Klaus Mäkelä, Daniele Gatti, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Simone Young, and Philippe Jordan.
Born in Grenoble in the Alps, he started playing the trumpet at the age of five and took lessons at the Aix-les-Bains Conservatory. He then continued his studies at the Regional Conservatory of Chambéry before joining the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in 2020, where he studied with Marc Geujon and Alexis Demailly. In 2023, he continued his development under Reinhold Friedrich at the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe.
His accolades also include First Prize at the 2024 Ellsworth Smith International Trumpet Competition (USA), First Prize at the 2023 August Everding International Music Competition (Munich), Second Prize at the 2024 Roger Voisin Competition (Miami, USA), as well as a Special Prize for contemporary interpretation at the 2023 Kesselblech Brass Festival in Stuttgart.
In 2025, he was selected to join the Academy of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam for the 2025–2026 season.
