Praised by The Washington Post for his “poetic and exquisitely sculpted interpretations,” pianist David Fung consistently delivers elegant and compelling performances in a wide range of repertoire.

A frequent guest of the world’s premiere orchestras, Mr. Fung has collaborated with the Cleveland Orchestra, Detroit Symphony, Israel Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and San Francisco Symphony, as well as the major orchestras in his native country of Australia. Known as an incisive interpreter of Mozart and Bach, Mr. Fung has collaborated with the chamber orchestras of Israel, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Orpheus, Saint Paul, and Orchestra of St. Luke’s.

He has captivated audiences at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Louvre, Gewandhaus, Palais des Beaux-Arts, and Zürich Tonhalle, as well as the major halls in Asia, including the Beijing Concert Hall, Guangzhou Opera House, Hong Kong Town Hall, Seoul Arts Center, and Taiwan National Concert Hall. Notable festival appearances include Aspen, Blossom, Caramoor, Edinburgh, Hong Kong Arts, and Ravinia.

Mr. Fung first garnered international attention as laureate of two prestigious competitions, the Queen Elisabeth, in Brussels, and Arthur Rubinstein, in Tel Aviv, where he was awarded the Chamber Music and Mozart Prizes.

He graduated from the Colburn Conservatory, where he studied with John Perry, going on to work with Peter Frankl, Claude Frank, and Arie Vardi at Yale University, and at the Hannover Hochschüle. Mr. Fung curates the Spirio Piano Series at the Chan Center in Vancouver and is a Steinway Artist.
