“I think it’s amazing that in 2019, one hundred and thirty years after his birth, my grandfather Charlie Chaplin is still around and loved by so many, that even a hundred and five years after his first movie was made, he still surprises people. Philippe Quint's new album Chaplin's Smile is allowing him to be discovered by a whole new audience as a talented composer, a side of him many people did not know.”
Conceived and produced by Philippe Quint, this unique program has received worldwide acclaim and attention from major media outlets such as Forbes, Limelight and Guardian. Philippe Quint celebrates Charlie Chaplin's 130's anniversary with a multimedia performance that juxtaposes the music of Chaplin, with those great composers he was influenced by, including Debussy, Stravinsky, Brahms, Gershwin, and Tchaikovsky. The encounters Chaplin had with these musical giants are explored through music and narrations by Quint and frequently hosted by Chaplin's granddaughter celebrated actress and model, Kiera Chaplin. The program includes photographs and screen clips of Chaplin’s silent era films, as well as rare video footage of Chaplin conducting an orchestra in a recording session.
